Who are the Supportes of this initiative?

Schüler Helfen Leben (SHL) was founded during the Yugoslavia war in 1992 by high school students who brought relief supplies in the war region. Since 1998 SHL organizes the annual Social Day which brings more than 80,000 high school students to work for one day and donate their salary to youth and educational projects.

At SHL, the students decide themselves which projects they want to support. Currently, SHL funds 15 projects in South Eastern Europe, one project in Syria and one project in Jordan. Additionally, SHL has own projects – with local employees and young people from Germany spending their voluntary service abroad.

Stiftung Schüler Helfen Leben supports projects in South Eastern Europe and Jordan in the areas of education, youth activism, social inclusion of marginalized groups as well as peace and conflict resolution. Target groups of our projects are children and young people between 4 and 30 years of age.
